Metallic Rattling Noice ~ 2000rpm

Featured Replies

Hi

Just got my 2005 Fabia vRS back from its 80k service and have noticed a metallic rattling noise at around 2,000rpm coming from the back of the car.

It's most noticeable when the engine is cold (could be that it does it at a less range of revs when warm). At first I thought it was something rattling round in the boot, but I can't seem to find any source.

Anyone had this and know what this could be? Will get my local garage to take a look, just trying to get a heads up if its something.

Could be exhaust shield? Does it happen just at the rpm, or when going over bumps?

Have they removed the wheels - can you see the wheel nut key in the usual place?

Exactly the first thing I thought of. Locking wheel nut was in bottom of well instead of in the holder so thought I'd solved it by moving it back, however the rattle remains. Hmm...
