Power Assisted Steering?

Featured Replies

It seems sometimes the PAS doesn't work, mainly when the car is stationary, it seems like you need to rev the engine for it to work sometimes which is annoying when you are in a tight parking space. I've noticed it when moving sometimes too though, my friend who owned a vRS before said his done that and then shortly after his whole steering rack needed to be replaced. Does anyone know if this is normal or whatever?

1. Check the fluid level for the PAS

2. Does the battery light come on with the ignition and go out when the engine starts ?

3. Have a look at the "Load Signal Wire"

4. How old is the battery - it could be on it's way out.

Do your headlamps dim excessivly when steering at low speeds? (Notice you've HIDs, so I dunno if they will or not due to the way they work.)

Otherwise check as Dean has said - it is a common issue and searching google should bring up loads.
