hi can anyone help i have a vrs fabia which is poor strting on first start,it fires and runs for a few secs and stops it does this 8 or 9 times before starting and running normal ,i have changed the heater plugs and checked power down to them,any ideas

Have you changed all of the obvious things...Fuel,air filter etc.

Are the heater plugs staying on long enough?

my Vrs doesn't sound as bad as yours but was cutting out after glowing and turning the key. I changed the glow plugs and it starts instantly although will be trying cold starts over the week, so will let you know. But would second glow plugs assuming they are old/original.
