Please Help. Need new ECU!

Featured Replies

My car has decided to switch on the Engine Warning Light and the ECP light.

I took it in the garage today and they have informed me my car is showing an internal fault on the ECU and it would need to be replaced at a cost of £1600

The part number is 1Z0907115A

Does anyone have any ideas how I could get hold of this cheaper anywhere??

My car is an 07 plate MKII Petrol Vrs

Thanks All

You should contact Shark Performance (Shark90)

I have seen this come up before and I think the ECU can be repaired.

Many thanks I will send a pm.

Just to add further the car is running fine. I have done over 300 miles since the lights have been on. The dealer did mention to me that I have already had the latest update for the ECU

I might try bluefin or shark to see if it overrides the error

Talk to Ben first. He has a section on here or drop him a PM. You could make matters worse by trying to override the error.

Agree with Wardy, talk to someone like Ben first.

I'm sure that the first time you use a bluefin it does a DTC code scan first and if there are any errors, that could be an issue, it won't install.

Still I'd get a through diagnostic opinion first

I think Ben has rescued several members now whos ecu had checksum errors, when the dealer wanted to replace the whole ecu.

Pm Ben (Shark_90) before doing anything.
