Resetting service interval

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I took my car to the garage for a service, and the service indicator's not been reset. (It's a Pre-FL Octavia 2)

It's not a major deal but the beep when I turn on the car's bugging me! ;-)

The garage would reset it for me but it's a faff to take time out. Is there an easy way? (I don't have VAGCOM either before anyone suggests that.)

Thanks in advance. :)

Not if you want to keep it on variable no.

Shame. Ah well, never mind.

What if I don't care about variable servicing? (I'll probably do it early anyway. I just want to stop the beep.)

Then yes you can, do you have maxidot?

No, bog standard manual car, not the DSG/Maxidot.

(By the by, thanks for your help on this.)

1. Ignition off - Press & hold trip reset button.

2. Turn ignition on - wait for 10 seconds.

3. Release trip reset button.

4. Turn ignition off.

I think this is in the manual if you get stuck. As Tech1e says, this will change your servicing from variable to fixed servicing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all. :)

(Note to self- read manual more carefully! :D )
