alternative to the elegance drawer

Featured Replies

Depends whether you reckon the drawer being the right colour and texture, and having a self-open/latch action rather than just a push/pull action is worth the extra 18 quid.

And the Ingerish "Free Box" branding! :giggle:

I'm not sure colour will be an issue because I have an aftermarket hu, but the branding is pretty gash!

It's purpose will be to hide a memory stick from the rear of. The unit.

I'm pretty sure that's a copy part of the real toyota item.. And if not mistaken theres a cupholder/draw version with the split half way up not to different from the Polo cup holder / cubby.... but with a draw instead.

I've got a drawer in mine, it was already there when i got the car, but it's pretty useless, ok for phone/ipod or something, but it's really not worth the money.

..I had an elegance before my vRS and for a week had both.. So somehow the draw and netted parcel shelf swapped between the cars :giggle:

Personally I think the draws worth the cash from skoda just for the fact it finishes of the dash when you keep the oem HU. without the OEM HU it's a different story.

I should've said, i'm not on OEM HU, which is probably another reason it's not favoured.

Well I have the tray with rubber mat if you fancy a swap?!

I already have a spare thanks. :)

I liked it as a little mod, as it stopped stuff flying out of the std cubby hole under proper acceleration :)

They come up from time to time 2nd hand on here (sold my last one). Usually they fetch £20 all day everyday, so still more than the option posted. Personally I wouldn't touch that eBay one with a bargepole, looks awful.

If you don't want to spend the cash, either put some non-slip matting in the std cubby hole, or pop a bit of velcro onto the USB stick, and the hook side of the velcro to the back of the cubby hole. You'd never know it was there then

Yes that's not a bad idea as a short term solution. Hopefully someone reading this is upgrading to a double din soon! Went on sko-spares and they will do one for 15 so plus vat and delivery it comes in at 25 used, so that's an option I guess.
