Stuck on re-circulate :s

Featured Replies

Hi, i wonder if anyone has had this problem before.

I started my car up yesterday morning and the recirculate button was on even though i never pressed it. I tried turning it off but after 1-2 seconds it came back on. It did this all yesterday until the drive home when it went off by itself. However, today, it is back on and wont turn off at all if i press it.

Its driving me mad, please help! I had to pull over a couple of times to wipe the windscreen cos it mists over very easily.

Ive tried turning air con on/off, cold/hot, feet/windscreen but none of them make any difference. Im thinking of disconnecting the battery for half an hour when i get home so if it is an electronics issue it should reset?

Thanks in advance

You'd need a fault code scan ideally to see whether it's the motor that controls the recirc / fresh air flap that's causing the problem, or the control panel itself. Disconnecting the battery can't hurt, though...

Okay thanks. Will i be able to physically see the flap somewhere or is it buried deep inside the dash. Its hard to diagnose myself because its dark when i get home (and i have no scanner) :/

Ooo okay thanks alot, ill have a fiddle with it later :) Yeah fair point. It seems like its more of an electronic issue because it did go onto fresh air for half an hour yesterday so i doubt it is stuck. Worth a try though.
