Key fob question

Featured Replies

Garage in Cardiff have had my car 7 weeks (Long story)

One of the jobs they had to was to get a new key for the car and to have it coded. been to pick up the car today and garage i bought it from (Non skoda) have said skoda told them my existing key (old key) has deprogrammed itself, so they have ordered in a another new key..

Is this possible ?

Thanks

Andy

regarding remote locking, yes.

If the button is pressed too many times, out of range from the car (in a draw with other keys maybe?) it is deprogrammed.

According to the handbook, press a button, unlock the car, and you're synced. I'd double check the full procedure though.

Yeah i know about the sync, so can't see why they have ordered a new key. Car has been sat at garage for 7 weeks, one key was all fine, second key would lock and unlock car with fob, but not start it, so skoda ordered a new complete key.

mmmmmmmmmm

Not sure as garage are paying for it, but i do recall £150 being mentioned.

Ouch... when new alarm keyfob sections can be had on ebay for £30. Would still need syncing up with the car though.

My new key cot about £140, about £100 for the key and £40 for the coding i think. Garaged payed for it though
