Hi everyone.

Been reading a few threads before ive posted this and it looks like a very useful/fun forum - much like the Fiat forum im also a member of

Im thinking of swapping my Fiat Punto for a Fabia VRS in the nearish future. Ive read loads and loads of excellent reviews about the car on this site and others and cant really fault it. It should be a big step up from the Punto, being only a little 1.2 8v- a sheep in wolf's clothing :o, in both performance and build quality. I went to the dealers yesterday and sat in a VRS and the seats were amazing, I felt right at home in them! However im yet to test drive it, im going to wait nearer the time im wanting to swap ;)

Hopfully i'll become a regular on here (fingers crossed) Anyway enough of me rambling on :D

Welcome to the site, Dave :)

Remember that the reviews on this site are likely to be slightly biased at times ;) (But still accurate, I reckon!)

You'll not be dissapointed. Well impressed with ours.

Hello and welcome to briskoda

Think you will find Skoda build quality to be far better than Fiat :)

Thanks for your welcomes :)

Build quality is a must for my next car, im fed up with the constant rattles I get in the Punto (02 reg so its not 'that' old!) And obviously im after a bit more punch/fuel economy.

I have some queries about if/how the Fabia can be modded but im going to search first and then post in the Fabia section if needed.

Welcome :wavey:

Sensible thing to do, is test drive, close to the time you want to order, otherwise if you drive it now , you WILL place an order. :)

Arghh id love to test drive it now! But better wait

Ive got a question, didnt know where to post so might as well do it here. What are Skoda dealers like in terms of budging on prices of new/used VRS's? Ive seen a car broker on the net offering them cheaper are these any good and have dealers been known to match these lower prices?

Cheers

I've seen people mentioning getting about a grand off , sometimes more.

Best bet is print out a few quotes from car brokers and use them as a starting point when you talk to your dealer.

Welcome to Briskoda

A good decision. When do you hope to collect it?

I was told it would arrive early to the middle of May (When the funds come through ;) )

Its going to seem like a lifetime until then

Ive got to think about selling my Punto, although its not vital I do........I hope :)
