I'm not sure what you're trying to do. If you mean the car computer for mpg etc, it's on all the time - you don't have to activate it. The rocker switch cycles between the modes.

I know on the golf etc it shows where the open door part is...

Dont think its possible on the fabia's... :(

Right - I see now - if you mean the "Maxidot" information display in the centre between the two main dials, in the UK that's only fitted if the car also has had the Sat Nav system factory fitted - at enormous expense. Again if you car has it you shouldn't have to "activate" it - it will be there all the time. The rocker switch is however depressed for more than a second to bring up the options menu controlling the various functions...

Really? With the ignition on or off?

From my memory with the keys not in the ignition slot can only see miles done and miles on trip counter nothing more or less

When I said "all the time" I meant when the ignition is on (obviously in my view) - it's not something that one activates!

Sorry that's the bit I was refering to.

As in just scrolling though, average MPG, current MPG, fuel range etc?

ive jst brought a 05 fabia vrs it has the rock switch bt no display should the be one ???

No, there is no central display. The trip computer works by pressing the rocker. Look at the mileage display and it should cycle between a number of different settings.

This is the maxidot on a Fabia MK1, only standard if you had satnav from the factory.

The display in "ordinary" cars is in the rev counter. Look at the manual - page 13 in my copy
