Dipstick reading

I don't get the issue, it really isn't difficult!

Not that kean on it in my car cos I have good clutch control, but I thought the hill-hold worked on the brakes, not the clutch? When you're at standstill, you're not gonna use the clutch that much more than if the feature wasn't on one's car, are you??

I have to admit that although I can see the min and max marks on the plastic ball type dipstick when it's wiped, it is slightly unfortunate that the colour of the plastic on the dipstick is exactly that of sump oil, I do find myself having to look at it very closely, especially when topping up to the max marker. It's even harder after an oil change when the oil is practically transparent.

I've had cars in the past with a bright orange scale on the dipstick, and it was really easy to read the level.

I think that instead of releasing the handbrake manually by pushing the button you can simply set-off and the handbrake releases automatically.

The problem is that sometimes it doesn't release as quickly as you can be with the clutch hence when the clutch begins to bite the car is still temporarily being held by the handbrake.

Yup, and that's why I don't like having it on my car. Still, I know it can be programmed out/off with VCDS so I might do that when I go to my mate who's an independant with all the kit.. :)

Folks, Me dipstick has two balls. I just press the read end against a tissue and the read transfears onto it. hope that is of some help

Mine ,with the two balls. seems to have different proportions. The balls (sorry) are much closer together and oil seems to get plastered all over the area. Not a nice easy reading, just seems to show oil is there.
