Annoying vibration on Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have had my Yeti 2lt, 110hp, 2wd for 3 months now and on the whole I am impressed with the drive, handling and comfort. One issue I have is an annoying high frequency vibration coming through the floor and peddles at 2500rpm and above. The vibration is enough to give my feet pins and needles on a long journey. The garage doesn’t think there is a problem and can't help.

Does anyone out there have the same problem with their Yeti?

Hi and welcome,

had this with my previous Monster, appeared to settle down in time but did not completely disappear. I think it only affects a handful of cars as I've only seen one or two other owners make mention of it. Interesting to note mind that as of November last the front suspension has been altered and the rear wishbone mounting console bush replaced with a more conventional rubber metal bearing.

Regards,

TP

[Cheers for that, might go back to the garage with the info.

If it is at 2500 rpm - no matter what gear, see above.

If it is at a speed related to the 2500 rpm in one specific gear, check that it is not wheel balance. How do you do that? Find a hill and drive down at the relevant speed and put the gear in neutral. If it continues, it's most likely wheel balance.

a lot of crud collects in the wheels during this mucky weather. Snow as an example.

Thanks for the info. I will experiment with your idea but I am sure the vibration occurs in all gears.

Hello GiscoYeti,

Many thanks (grazie mille!).

I was wondering where the vibration originated (I had it from 2000 to 2500 r.p.m., and with low temperature): it seemed coming from the inner of the dashboard.

Thank you to your simple but very effective adjustment I solved this issue!

Bye,

Ratz

Dear GiscoYeti,

That's such a great help.

I have a 1.2 S DSG Yeti. My rattle, which I thought was from within the dassboard, came on cold days at about 800 revs/min. Very annoying when waiting at traffic lights.

I noticed on What Car used car review of the Yeti there are reports of "various rattles" (http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/used/skoda/yeti-crossover/full-review/25837-3).

Skoda should note your great little solution.

Thank you for your kind words, considering that this is valid for all engines 1.2 TSI (Golf, Polo, etc.) and perhaps also for the 1.8 Tsi
