Featured Replies

anyone know what leads can go into the back of the standard head unit so u can have a aux lead ? also is the any leads what can run a amp from the standard head unit. thanks

not sure about running an amp or sub from the standard headunit but i have a box that plugs into the back of the headunit which u can run a lead from to your ipod/mp3 i think its a connects2 one. I paid about £60 a year ago for it. Email me if you want it and want to make me an offer mate :)

Amp, yup.. but you'll need to get the parts to make a lead... or I think you can buy them ready made.

AUX in? You'll need a connects to (or like it) box that uses the CD changer input as a aux in.... you DO need the box as just making up a lead won't work because the HU won't look to the input unless it thinks a CD changer is present & playing.

thanks for that. :)

Hi huge apologies I'm a total ignoramus to things like this, how hard is it to hook up my wey aye pod to the stereo, I've used the fm transmitter kits before and find them a bit poor, some kind of hard wiring in with that magic box of tricks you're talking about sounds great. any help greatly appreciated.

With one of the connects2 boxes it's as easy as plugging it into the back of the stereo and routing the Dock, or 3.5mm jack through to a place you can get at it.

Connects2 make a AUX in box, with the 3.5mm jack... but also an ipod box that I think meas you can skip tracks from the stereo buttons.

The box I used simply connects to the back of the unit and plays through the cd button when there is no cd in the slot. When u want to use a cd u just slide one in and that works too. If any one is interested pm me iv got one I don't need anymore

I bought5 an emulator from these guys in Ireland - works a treat though you can't operate the auxilliary unit from the head unit. That doens't matter to me as my music is on my mobile 'phone.

That looks like the same system as the back of the ALANA head unit in the SEAT Ibiza.

You can use this connector - http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=CT29BP01

Then you just earth pin 14 and the head unit thinks it is receiving input from a CD multiplayer and puts it through the speakers.

Dean0.. I looked into that kinda thing a couple of years back and I never got a concrete answer as to if the Symphony would operate the input or not with out a data signal from the changer.. because some VAG units won't.

I have had a look at the pin diagram & labels on the ALANA and the ones for the Symphony (in the link above) - both have identical pin layout and identical labeling.

As long as you have the CD multichanger button it should work.

hi i'm probably too late but have you got the details for the box of tricks which hooks up the ipod?

cheers dan
