Hi! Noob Ocatvia Mk1 VRS!

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just Purchased a 51 plate Octavia VRS in Red from eBay (I know....) Pick it up today wish me luck!!!

I have read the buyers guide for these cars and will be giving the car a thorough going over before parting with (not an awful lot to be honest!) my hard earned.

Am selling my current car, a MK5 Golf GT 170 if anyone fancies one of those! soon to be on Autotrader after I've given her a clean and hoover.

Any tips for essential buys for these cars? Which site has the most bits (styling/tuning/etc) for these motors? (I've searched eBay, alot!)

Any advice is welcome, never driven one of these before. cheers!

Welcome to Briskoda

I bought mine through eBay and did not view before collection.

Same with my last 3 cars before that too, i only had a problem with 1 of those cars but got the car for a bargain price in the end anyway.

Good luck with your purchase! as normal, check receipts, MOT's service history, you ideally want 2 keys, check suspention for leaks and knocks, check brakes for wear and blue smoke from the exhaust etc etc

I'm fairly new hear myself but theres a good wealth of information on here.

Guy was really nice, its got FSH with stamps, receipts and tax reminders all the way back to the birth of the car! Pulls like a mule on mission and the only problem i've noticed so far is the classic fault of the Air flap redirection motor getting stuck and making that stupid clicking sound behind the glovebox!!

Thanks all :)

Sound like a bargain was had emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Definate bargain, A very well looked after car... still has spare bits hidden in the boot like headlights, oil, screenwash, road map and wd40!!!

The car really does make me smile, I've owned alot of nice cars in my time and this one is definately up there with the best of them in terms of smile factor!

I just cant wait to drive it again! I love the fact that there are some jobs that need doing like tcut the rear spoiler, get it valleted... etc! nothing major just nice touches...

Very pleased with my new purchase, many happy miles to come ;)

Just need to disconnect that pesky recirc motor.... :wonder:
