Door opening lever broken

Featured Replies

Hi All,

The interior drivers door level refuses to open the door although I can open it from the outside.

I suspect that the cable has just slipped or broken as there is no resistance in the level when pulled.

Has anyone else had this problem and could you give me some advice.

Cheers

The cable coller may have come out of the plastic clip on the rear of the door card/handle

This may help

happened to me just before Xmas, cable wire had become frayed allowing enough slack on the hook end to unhook itself from the handle

new cable from ebay for £6 / bout 30 mins to take the door card off and all is well again

this was the one I got

Cheers for that.

I take it its pretty easy to remove and replace the door trim?

not too bad actually, 3 screws on the bottom of the door card . 2 screws on each side ,

a few more screws to remove after you have taken off the electric window switches and the

small trim behind the release handle.

The card then pops off by pulling upwards

You will need some spline bits as you have to loosen off the main lock body to release the

cable for replacement -

A haynes manual helps ;-)
