My first post, time to introduce myself!

Featured Replies

Hi,

my name's kingsley, i'm 20 years old from the uk. i've recently bought a black 2000 skoda fabia 1.9 sdi with 124,000 miles for the decent price of £1140.

A few problems with the buy,

- Petrol flap doesn't close (recently found the thread on how to fix, tried to do it earlier but it was too dark!)

- Broken glove box handle (buying a new unit from ebay soon)

- Missing Skoda badge on the boot

Other than that it's not in bad condition. Service history til about 70,000 miles.

Going to put in for a service, but i'm guessing it will be quite expensive since it's done 45,000 miles since a last service (well, may have had one sooner but no documentation of it!)

ONE question though, which hopefully someone will be able to help me with!

The car came with a Pioneer DEH 2900MP, image

It comes with a rear aux-input as seen on the bottom right

However, the aux in doesn't work. I've followed this guide to enable to aux function but i can only cycle between cd and tuner nothing else :(

I had a Rover Metro before the Skoda and had a aux-in stereo in that (which I can still own so can swap if needed) which was awesome.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Would love to find a solution because it's driving me nuts!

Just thought I'd introduce myself! I hope to learn a few things from here being the car amateur that I am!

Yo,

Thanks for the advice. Booked it in for a standard service next Thursday and asked for quote for a cambelt service. Got about £400-500 spare.

It shouldn't cost too much, should it? I mean. around the £150-200 mark is standard, right?

welcome to briskoda
