If you just want leaving/coming home activated, you don't need to change the headlight switch, or have the rain/light sensor (although the function will be active no matter what the time of day).

This function can be enabled using VAG-COM/VCDS.

But when i activated CH/LH in VAG-COM nothing happends and the same thing is with corneirng lights..

iin service they said that i have headlighth switch with tunnel light ( auto option), but i dont want to buy if will not do..

Your Octavia is probably too early to have the the cornering fog light function activated, my 2007 Octavia was built in July and was one of the first to support it.

How will fitting an auto light switch help if you don't have the rain and light sensor? The coming home/ leaving home function isn't controlled from the light switch, more likely from the convenience controller which is where recoding would come in.

If recoding doesn't enable it there could be a hardware issue preventing it.

You need the coding enabled, then it will appear as an option in Maxidot (if you have it). Otherwise it can be permanently set and the timing done with VCDS.

Did this with my MY06 vRS TFSi and my current MY05 PD140. Both have Maxidot, so when the coding's been done the option then appears under Lighting in Maxidot, and you can turn on/off from there, and alter the time each function stays on.

Cornering fogs I wouldn't bother with even if I had the function! My headlights are good enough to see where I'm going...

I have Maxidot and when i cod CH/LH option,in maxidot nothing new show under the lighting..

Dose anyone have picture of coding CH/LH in Vag Com? Maybe i do something wrong with coding..

Something's not quite right with the coding then. What year is your Octavia?

It is january of 2007.

At dealer's service when they try to code CH/LH on the screen was written that vehicle must be equipped with headlight switch with tunnel light position and after you can't do anything.

All I'll say is that me, and many others have Octavias without that headlamp switch, and are able to setup CH/LH perfectly fine :)

It's probably because the dealers are using the VAS system, rather than VAG-COM/VCDS. VCDS is easier to use to change these sorts of settings.

I don't have access to my car, or VCDS at the moment. But the option should be located in:

Central electrics module (09) then Long coding.

Within Byte 1:

Leaving home lights

Coming home lights

It might be listed slightly differently, or possibly even stored within a different byte, depending on your version of the convenience unit.

Hope this helps,

Steve
