Dealer phoned me today, information from Skoda build date is week 7/8 and car will be delivered on or before March.Nothing now can be altered on the car.

What is the timescale from build to delivery.

When Skoda gives the build date is this accurate.

You have ordered a petrol & the waiting list seems to be a heck of a lot shorter than for diesels. You may be lucky, but don't hold your breath though

According to my dealer, build date is accurate to 4 weeks, so as we are about to begin week 3, I would say your build week7/8 is marginal re accuracy - but if it's correct, it should be definitely confirmed within the next two weeks.

I don't really want it too quickly as I've got my existing car to sell.

My diesel Monster has just lost her provisional build of WK7, due apparently to a lack of engines; so who knows you might now have this vacant slot :wonder:

Taken to port,loaded- wait until ship is full.

Shipped to UK port.

Taken to dealers,pdi,taxed etc.

Handed over to customer.

3-4 weeks?

According to my dealer - again - 3 weeks from build to delivery would be quick. 4/5 weeks is more usual, allowing for delays at any or all of the following four stages: transport to Emden, shipping to the UK, transport to delaer, PDI and handover.

Strangely enough, I got a call the other day. Week 14 - 1.2 DSG with a couple of bits extra - ordered end Nov. / start Dec.

Elegance 1.2 TSi DSG Aqua Blue, Onyx, Columbus, TPM, Silver RR, RRP. & Spare wheel

Ordered end October, provisional build date is week 15.

My dealer phoned today saying that my 1.2 DSG Elegance is now going to be built week commencing 7th February,That's from final spec from the dealer to Skoda on 10th January and from me placing the order late on 31st December.That's 37 days from order to build.

That's build week 6 then

excellent new; VW must have been given them a stash of 7spd DSG boxes to make up for a lack of diesel motors

This seems super quick. I ordered my Aqua Blue 1.2S (no factory options) on 23rd December. My provisional build is Week 10 and I've been told to expect it End of March beginning of April. I wonder if my build will have moved up now that they seem to have curtailed diesel production? How often do you guys needle your salesmen for info and do you find it makes a lot of difference?

No hassling the dealer from me,as yet I'm in no hurry for the car as I have my existing car to sell.I did spec the car with options hoping to slow delivery down.Perhaps its build week 6/7 2012!
