Hit a pheasant, need advice. :(

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Hit a pheasant this morning and now have a couple of things to fix. The impact pushed the n/s fog light back into and bracket the wheel arch and the little black plastic grill that goes next to it which covers the temp sensor has gone. I need to replace that grill part which is quite simple but when it came to clipping the fog light back onto the bumper the bracket that the actual lens bolts into appears to have sheared at the top. Looks like that bracket is meant to screw onto something as well as clip on to the bumper. It's clipped back on for now but without taking the arch liner out I can't see for certain.

Does anyone know how this bracket is meant to be attached to the bumper at the top? Also the rough cost of parts for a new bracket and little side grill bit.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Lol. Unfortunately I was on a dual carriageway and couldn't stop to pick up the sodding thing. Not only that but the range rover behind me finished it off.

That guide doesn't detail fog light bits unfortunately nor for a VRS.

I've tried searching too but it either finds the word 'fog', or VRS, or lamp, or bumper. Not all the terms.

Sorry only the guy behind can claim the roadkill (apparently)

Well, after taking it to the dealers to talk to their body people, the job entailed taking the front bumper off to fix it as the bracket that holds the fog light in place is rather large.

I left this one to them.

Parts for both the bracket and the little bit of trim came to about £11 and labour was about £60. Not too bad I thought considering it could have done a lot more damage.
