Anyone interested in my old suspension if I upgrade to coilovers?

Featured Replies

I've got a Bilstein Streetline kit on my VRS, front is down about 55mm rear about 45mm. Paid loads of £££ them back when I bought the car about 2 years ago. Car has done 15000 miles with them on, they all still look in good condition - no leaks. They were 2nd hand when I bought them, but they had been fitted and then removed almost immediately to upgrade to coilovers.

Anyone interested - or should I just stick with them and save my money?? (Thats why its not in the for sale section yet!)

Not sure mate it would depend how much you wanted for them. I was planning on a set of the same coils you are going for and they are only just over £200. I'm not sure your setup would be enough of a difference from just having the eibach springs on.

When i bought them off ebay, they came wrapped in the original box - along with a receipt from DemonTweeks for £586!!!!

I paid less than that for them, but still more than half!

Sounds like you might be better off hanging on to them. I'd always be wary of buying suspension that's done more than 5k miles or even used at all as it's a load of ballache to sort if a damper decides to spit the dummy. For that reason I'd not want to spend much.

Just out of interest, why are you changing to coilovers - the kit you have seems to give a decent drop, do you want to go lower?

I have a huge amount of negative camber on the front (about 4.3 degrees!!) Which is chewing the crap out of the tyres within 5000 miles. I've ordered a set of fully adjustabe top mounts - So I can adjust the camber. Taking the suspension apart i thought i'd like to bring the rear down a bit lower - hence the thought of coilovers! :)
