Hi, i have got a octavia sallon 1.6 on a ( T Reg ) and at the moment is my runaround. I want to have some cheap track day fun with it so i am proposing to take the engine and gearbox out and drop a 20v turbo engine and gearbox in out of a golf, mainly because they are more readily avalible. i am hoping it will more or less just fit straight in, i am aware of all the different codes but thinking that they are all pretty much the same? could anyone help me by answering these questions please, many thanks.

I'd of thought it would be cheaper just to sell yours and buy a 1.8t car?

Considering you could get a 4x4 1.8t for sub £1500 yes it's going to be cheaper.
