After market HID Lights...?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anybody has put in after market HID lights in their Octy vRS? If so, what intensity did you go for, and how do they look?

Cheers

Are you referring to proper Xenon gas-discharge lights, or the pappy imitation blue bulbs favoured by Nova/Paxo/Corsa drivers?

If you're after proper Xenons, then the best bet is to try and find all the required parts from a scrap Xenon-equipped Octy, but you'll need to be pretty handy with wiring looms as they aren't the simplest bits of kit. This will include headlamp washers, 5L washer bottle, etc, as without self-levelling and headlamp washers they are illegal for road use and will fail your MOT.

There are also 'proper' HID lamp upgrades, but once again you'll need self levelling and washers to make them legal.

As for pappy blue bulbs. Don't get me started. :thumbdwn:

one would assume that he's talking about the proper HID Kits you can get, don't they cost around

Thanks for the replies people! Yeah, I was referring to the proper Xenon HID Kits. I don't mind doing all the work... already fitted the 5l washer tank, just trying to find a new pair of headlights, as the correct projection ones are needed for the HIDs.
