When should the clutch be replaced in a vRS

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Just wondering, is there any recommended time period or distance traveled before the clutch should be replaced in a car, mostly notably a Fabia vRS? i.e every 4 years or 60,000 for the timing belt.

Thanks,

Jim

As with every other car, the clutch is not a scheduled service item, and shouldn't need to be replaced until it goes, or your DMF fails, as it's advisable to replace them at the same time.

driven like a tool you mean lol :giggle:

I've been driving for 37 years - not had to replace a clutch on any car during that period...

Still on the original one here @ 86k.

However, I put a tuning box on that' I'd kept from my previous vRS at 60k, and the clutch started slipping quite badly, so took it straight off again.

100k and i'm still on the original clutch, with remap which was done at 54k. still seems to be holding up okay

102k on the original clutch here. Doesn't always like engaging first at very low speed, so I wonder whether this is the beginning of the end? Haven't noticed any slipping though.

Alpine sounds similar to mine. Biting point has got a bit soggy recently aswell. 98k (with a hard life) and recently mapped

mine was remapped at about 30k, on 80k now...still seems ok.
