Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anybody knows if Skoda regulary uses any particular ships from Emden? My Scout is apparently at the docks awaiting shipping and I thought I might be able to track it.

Your car might well go to Tyne Port, mine did. The ships to look for are "City of xxxxx". City of Sunderland is the most frequent.

Yes, My dealer (in Darlington) says the SM will come into Tyne Port - more convenient than Grimsby, as he is sometimes prepared to go and collect new cars from there himself if onward transporter is likely to be delayed..

according to my dealer convenience has nothing to do with it they had 10 cars snowed in in Grimsby. the dealer is in surrey south east of guildford and no snow. sheerness is the nearest port to us.

i think it is more to do with space on the ships.

Well, I can only report what my dealer says - and he is adamant that Yetis for dealers in the north-east come into Tyne Port, which suits them fine!

My car is supposed to be built this week so I'll keep an eye on the City of Sunderland - not showing at all at the mement!

Have just found the City of Sunderland - it's in port at Hanko, which is apparently in Finland. So maybe it will be moving on to Emden to ferry my SM across the North Sea in the next couple of weeks.

There's a couple of other 'City of' ships to keep an eye out for. My Yeti arrived in Port of Tyne on the City of Rome and I'd been keeping an eye on at least one other 'City of' ship whose name I can't now remember. http://www.portoftyne.co.uk/business-divisions/marine-and-environmental-services/shipping-movements/expected-shipping/ will show you all the ships expected into Port of Tyne in the near future. Looks like the next ship due from Emden is called the Nordic Ace so maybe things have changed again.

Both the previous Monster and Fabia were shipped to Grimsby; although the new Monster when it eventually gets built I expect to arrive via Sheerness, having ordered her from James down at Allams
