Yep! :D Mainly down to cost and also ability to easily take it off if I sell the car.....

Mike - if you're that curious about what a pukka tuning box will be like, take a trip to Bromley's in Chorley.

They do the Tunit Boxes - http://www.tunit.co.uk - and they will set one up on your car for you for a no-obligation trial...

I got one off eBay which was branded as Dragon. Cost me around 30 quid and allegedly produces 25-30% more bhp and torque, although I've not had that verified. The butt dyno notices a big difference though :D

With the box on, the car is more economical (sorry Ivan ;) ), smoother, pulls stronger and has a much wider power band. Takes less than 5 minutes to fit, and I've run it for the best part of 12k miles without a hiccup or any ECU faults being logged. Best 30 quid I ever spent on a car, and there's currently a group buy going on for something very similar but for even less money :D

Given that my car weighs over two metric tons, and a Smart a lot less, that's probably proportional!
