The first of many polishing and waxing days

I used mequires nxt gen wash and wax followed by auto glyms super resin polish then finally mequires nxt gen 2.0 wax

Thanx now that ive gone through the wash n wax,polish and wax sealer now all I have to do is wash and wax occasionally must say she's looking fine,only 31 miles on the clock so I am eager to get behind the wheel and going for a long drive,missus not well so it will have to wait a while

did u do it by hand? what cloth did u use?

I've used a clay bar on my black saab 93, Bilt Hammer I think it's called. The concept is strange... "let's rub this clay all over your lovely clean paint", but if you do it gently and keep the area wet (not all clay bars use water, some need a special solution, but the Bilt Hammer just uses water) and you can see the crap sticking to the clay and leaving the paint work nice and smooth. It doesn't have any sort of polishing or paint restoration properties though, purely for removing paint contaminants.

Oh, car looks great too... the missus will be ordering one soon... apparently all the other colours (non-VRS) make the car look like an old persons car... I didn't have the guts to remind her that she's forty this year... lol

What, red with a white roof is an old person colour? Don't have to have the VRS for that combo!

I love black cars but they stay clean for about 5 mins. My Octy was awful for keeping clean - if it wasn't pollen in the summer it was salt in the winter. God I sound like Victor Meldrew now!

Yes done by hand I have a machine polisher but was a bit scared of using on the new furby,I only use microfibre cloth for the polishing process and a microfibre noodle mit for the wash,I do use the machine as it does do a great job quickly but I do prefer to do it by hand when I have the time:thumbup:

No the general fabia colours are quite bland,however the vrs and sport combos are nice but all black is special ,regardless of how quickly they look as if they need another wash n polish

i don't know how long it took u but i had to do it in 2 days due to arm ache, and my car is filfhy again after a few days.

3 HOURS but get yourself a machine take no tome at all:thumbup:

polishing by hand for 3 hours!!

took me 2 sessions of about 2-2.5 hours. wash, clay, wash, dry, paint cleaner, not bothered with meg's polish, autogylm srp, meg's carnuba wax., extra layer on bonnet and doors.

I agree it looks good for a few hours work.

Have you or will put anything eg Scotchguard on the seats and cloth trim?

No doubt when arranging delivery my dealer will ask about Supagard again.

Sadly for him I will be spending a fraction on the materials and a couple of afternoons of my time then the balance of £300 towards my holiday !!

Hi estateman I really like the new fabia shes lovely yes I agree all fabias are great the 08 1.4tdi 3 pot is brilliant,to be honest I have'nt driven the elegance properly yet wifey not well but she's getting better so should be on the road by friday I hope:wonder:

I have the red and white roof combo on my new vrs and i'm only 29 so not sure if i'm getting old or what. I love the look of it.

Ah you've done the classic mini colours red n white roof,its a nice combo no your not getting old,enjoy just dont plant it in a hedge
