Rumour ....VW to axe TSi engines.

Featured Replies

"Rumour has it that VW might axe the twincharger engine line-up.

The company’s 1.4-litre engine, which mixes turbocharging and supercharging, is said to be too complex and expensive to produce.

Instead, VW engineers now believe that new turbocharging technology can achieve similar results at a much-reduced cost."

Think this topic should read "Rumour ...VW to axe Twincharger TSi engines"

Don't panic - unless you have a Fabia VRs. :|

I don't think they are going to axe them anytime soon. I'm pretty sure they sell a fair few of these engines in the Golf and the Scirocco, plus the Polo GTi and the Fabia vRS. I imagine the Audi A1 will be available with the 1.4TSI TwinCharge before long.
