Flashing green lights

Featured Replies

The last couple of days ive noticed the green back light on my dash flickering

This morning the climatronic flashed on and off twice quickly

I found my interior boot light unplugged at the switch and also at the bulb end recently and plugged it back in could this have anything to do with it? It only started since then so thinking maybe it had been unplugged because of that

As you can probably tell im not very electrically minded

I had similiar symptoms about two months ago. Then one day I was driving along and all electrical systems died -no inidicators, lights, wipers, nothing. Driving along in pitch dark! Was funny afterwards!

Turned out the "harness" (wire) between alternator and battery had corroded and burnt out, knackering the battery (my alternator was also knackered but that's another story). £40 from Skoda for replacement harness. Easy to fit oneself. Battery ~£80 fitted by AA.

Have you noticed any weird smells recently after starting the vehicle ? We did but didn't think anything of it - turns out it was the rubber sheath melting on the harness.

Hope that helps.

Reesky.

:o

Im guessing not so funny at the time!! Will have a look as soon as I can didnt flicker this evening I was guessing something to do with damp and a dodgy connection somewhere but will check out the battery thanks

Might be worth checking out your earths too. Check all the nuts and nipped up nice and tight in the fuse box on top of the battery as well.
