Location of Temp Sensor

Featured Replies

Trying to help my sister fix her skoda as it has a issue starting when warm.

Searching trough this forum I find that there is a possible the temp sensor. Thing is I do not know where the sensor is. Has anyone got a picture that shows where it is in the engine.

Many thanks.

If it's a diesel then it's still in the same general location as the petrol ones pictured - on a coolant hose union around the right-hand end of the head. Beware there are a few different sensors depending on the age and which type of engine it is, so if it does need replacing you might want to wait until you've got the old one out and had a look at it before you get the replacement, to be sure which one you need.

^ ah yes excellent, you linked into that common issues thread  you don't say which engine type, but i'm sure you can work it out from the pics

Job done. Time taken about 3 minutes. Sister did most of the dirty work as well  so she knows what to do next time.

You will need to replace about a litre of coolant when as quite a lot came out. but that might have been because she was a bit slow in putting the new one in. :giggle: .

Took picture of location of sensor for the 1.9TD engine. Teflontom do you want me to email the picture to you to add to the thread for othere to reference?

yeah ok, i'll pm you my email address
