PI5#Y DIESEL LEAK!

Featured Replies

As most of you know my Fabia suffered from a diesel leak and this still continues. I haven't used the car except to go to my 'repairers' place and back. Its been in this state since about christmas when my undertray smashed up and the leak started. Now the situation im in is I have a flat battery where the diesel leaked onto my alternator belt and corroded it causing it to snap therefore not charging the battery. I have bought a new filter (where the leak appears from) with new 'O' rings and fitted it all... The leak continues. Could it be the 'T' piece that connects to the filter as its defently not the other two hoses. Either way im going to have to order one of them and replace it and hope for the best... TBH i've just about had enough. I've got money waiting to be spent on mufflerectomy and a map and a SeatSport FMIC waiting to be fitted along with a EGR delete pipe. I am also waiting for my car to work so I can get the bloody paint on the arches repaired along with a small scuff on the mirror and colour coding the grille. If anybody has experienced the poxy diesel leak please tell me how you fixed it. ANY advice appreciated.

Mine also leaked on my Superb after I changed the filter, I replaced the T piece and it cured it, not sure if it is the same as the Fabia but it does sound very similar.

Hey Gizmo, Thanks for your reply. Atleast im felling a little more hopeful about tomorrows attempt at curing the problem. Its really annoying because im not repairing the belt till the leaks sorted as itll just mess up the new one

It'l all be worth it in the end B)

My old Fabia had a bad diesel leak, but it was coming from the tandem/vacuum pump.

Worth checking ?

Thanks Johnny, but its only worth checking if that pipe is near or ontop of the diesel filter as its defently coming from there. :(

Not sure about that dude, my whole right side (as you look at the engine) was soaked with diesel, and it was a fairly small leak too, i was quite surprised at how far it had spread.

Na mines on top of the filter but has made EVERYTHING filthy and greasy, Front wheel, Caliper, intercooler... everything in that region

Cut and shut? air from the gearstick? lol

Bodge job exhaust, plastic door trims, flaked archs, sandpaper'd roof, worn leather seats, diesel leak, snapped alternator belt, ruined splitter, ruined undertray, ruined arch lining, rattly grill surround, twisted bonnet

Lol its not as bad as you make it sound. Plus the leak and belt are sorted now. I also have no undertray anymore... Looking at your sig that dot matrix really is bad on your back window, Does your door work yet? What about the window? Or is that still held in by timber? +1 for the horn mod too, and buckeled bonnet :giggle:
