Overheating smell

Hi all,

For the past couple of days, I've noticed that after a short drive (from cold) there starts to be a strange smell coming presumably from the engine (petrol FL VRS). It's not a burning smell as such, the only way I can really describe is a bit like something is starting to overheat.

I have a 4 mile drive home from work, and by the time I'm nearly home I can start to smell it and oil temp has reached around 80. Light driving. Oil level is fine, coolant level is fine.

Getting concerned about driving any real distance. Will try and see if local dealer can have a look, but interested if anyone has any immediate ideas?
