Put on Vag-com last 2 codes :(

Featured Replies

Evening all , Brought a maxiscan Vag-com the other day and scaned my car and it came up with 3 codes . One i knew about which was the coolant temp sensor which i changed over christmas , the other 2 was

17978- Engine start blocked by Immobilizer . Now sometimes the when i start her up she cuts out straight away and it flashes the car with the key icon in the dash .

Now i read abit back someone had the same problem and it was a wire in the steering column which you can get from skoda to replace it ? Am i on the write track for this one ??

Also my old friend came back 17705 :( . I cured this and after about 5 months i got her re-mapped and the code wasn't there when was getting re-maped as he did a compelete scan . Got my car re-mapped in Feb last year and was brill running fine , its only been the past 4-5 months ive been getting 0.3bar and turn the engine of and back on its fine .

This doesnt happen all the time and may never see it for a few weeks and then i may get it 2-3 times a week where its 0.3bar .

So its got me thinking this maybe a split hose as it happens when ive traveled about a mile or so ? Any ideas ?

Bump ,, anyone ??

17978 - yep, there is a wire you can replace... that is probably the cheapest place to start with solving that issue.... Or have a quick search, there have been a few transponder threads recently.
