Tried it, hated it, went back to a Fabia. Haha!

Maybe I should elaborate - A couple of years back I had a 2005 Fabia vRS in black with xenons, cruise and heated seats as optional extras. It was awesome! However, when it came to service time it also needed brakes, four new tyres and the cambelt needed changing. Being an idiot (or, more specifically, not having a spare grand in my back pocket) I decided to trade it in for an Octavia vRS - I was thinking I could probably get an 05 one for maybe a little more money, however the diesel ones were more expensive than I had imagined (petrol was out of the question due to my commuting distance) and the hike in insurance premiums was out of this world as well.

I finally settled on a 56 plate Octy L&K which was a fine car in it's own right, but, not being the vRS, it was a little slower than I wanted, handled like a boat, the sound system sucked and the tyre roar from the 18" wheels (a notorious problem I later found out) was so loud I was pi$$ed off within about two seconds of any journey which required travelling at speeds any faster than 50mph. I kept the Octy for less than 6 months before admitting defeat and trading it in for my current Limited Edition. The Limited Edition doesn't have a tenth of the toys and optional extras that my L&K had but in terms of bringing a smile to my face when I drive it, nothing else has ever come close and I think that's more important. I still hope to get myself an Octy vRS one day but for now I'm more than happy with what I've got.

If you've got Octy vRS money I'd tentatively say go for it. If not, stick with the Furby.

I've had 2 Mk1 Octy vRS, and 2 Mk1 Fabia vRS.

The fabia is certainly the more fun car to drive, but you cant beat the comfort of the Octavia.

I'd have one in a minute if it weren't for the running costs.
