REAR BRAKE PROBLEM ANY Mechanics shed some light on IT...

Featured Replies

RIGHT HAVE PUT NEW DISCS AND PADS 1 NEW CALIPER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR....Now when I brake the drivers side is getting really warm have checked and it is NOT sticking hand brake works fine!!! Is there a brake compinsater on the rear? If so could that be a problem or could it be another new caliper???? Please any ideas

Sounds like the other caliper is sticking to me,when you fitted the disc's & pads did the caliper piston wind back ok? & did you leave enough clearance over the disc's & pads for the caliper to fit over them,if the handbrake mechanism is free & returning to the fully off position then it sound like you need another caliper.

Right the wierd thing is the wheels move freely and caliper releases okay and yes it did wind back okay...the other one that I replaced was really hard to wind back.....

did you get all the air out of the system as when the fluid warms up the air if there is any will expand much more than the oil also dod you uses copper greas on the edges of the pads and the calliper sliders?

Did you back handbrake levers off before you wound piston back and pumped brakes up then set handbrake back up,

Bit of a shot in the dark, but it's not a wheel bearing is it?
