No charge for spare wheel Chris

I noticed the MFSW had a phone symbol next to the volume control, will it have phone prep or are they all like it

Didn't ask the stealer in case he said yes and charged me for it

The occty's staying The wife can use it, the Fabia Vrs is my " Weekend Car " ( shhhhh don't tell the wife emoticon-0136-giggle.gif )

It won't be active even if you ordered the Bluetooth prep. You have to order the MFSW with controls for radio and telephone for it to work with the Bluetooth prep. It isn't cheap either - £150 or thereabouts?

MFSW is free if you order Bluetooth prep

MFSW is free if you order Bluetooth prep

Are you sure about that? In Ireland, Bluetooth is standard but it doesn't come with MFSW. The steering wheel just has buttons on the left, none on the right.

nice car spec would love to se some pics

I think you'll find that it isn't I'm afraid.

The MFSW with radio and telephone controls is listed as an option for the vRS under its own options list (as opposed to under the 'all models' list)

Put it this way, why would you order the MFSW if you didn't order the Bluetooth option? The standard MFSW looks identical to the optional one but the phone controls don't work, even if you specify the Bluetooth, unless you also order the optional MFSW.

Ours came with a MFSW...We did not pay extra for it.

My dealer told me it was standard

AS far as I know they ALL have buttons on the left, not on both sides of the wheel

For me its not worth speccing bluetooth on the car when considering the cost (?nearly £400 including the upgraded MFSW). I have a Parrot Minikit-slim. Was £50 and sound quality is brilliant, clips to the sun visor, can be transferred between cars, and the voice activated dialling works really well. Battery lasts for an eternity before needeing a charge and can pair with multiple phones.

Ideal low-cost solution I reckon........ :D

The MFSW IS standard on the vRS, that's very true. The MFSW with controls for the telephone is not.

Skoda (or the dealer) cannot charge you for something you don't get. If the standard MFSW indeed does already work with the Bluetooth system then Skoda would have no need to list a separate MFSW that has the added functionality of phone controls.

As I said, the two look identical as far as I know, the difference is in how they operate. The optional MFSW integrates with the Bluetooth telephone system whereas the standard MFSW only operates the radio.

I had to pay the extra for the optional MFSW with phone control as the standard one wouldn't work with it. Again, why would it be listed as an option under 'vRS options' if it wasn't required with the Bluetooth option? At the same time what use would it be to anyone who didn't order the Bluetooth phone prep seeing how the standard vRS comes with a MFSW anyway?

Not quite sure what's happened with your car but I assure you that the optional MFSW does not come as a freebie with the bluetooth option. If you look at the other trim levels in the Fabia brochure you'll see that the MFSW with phone controls is also an option across the range but varies in price depending on which trim level you choose. The MFSW on my vRS looks identical to the standard MFSW but the extra £150 or so I paid ensures that it works with the Bluetooth option I also specified.

bit confusing then, the MFSW on the wife's new Fabia VBrs has 2 telephone symbols on the left hand side, there's like a wheel that you turn and the symbols are there

Phone prep Yes or No

Also can the USB port be used for charging a mobile phone??
