Newbie Needs Help!

Hi All, I've been meaning to join for a while but I'm now at the end of my tether & need your help/advice.

I'm the proud owner of an Octavia VRS 2006 (mark 1) I've only had it for 5 months and have been over the moon with it. Recently I noticed a droning noise from the front end after putting different tyres on. I thought it was the tracking so went to Skoda to have that done (that was after having it done at 2 different tyre centres before) That still didn't fix it so I've just had the wheen bearings done and the noise is till there!! The garage think it might be the gearbox - after they milked me out of hundreds for the wheel bearings!!

The car has only done 63,000 miles so I'm not sure its the gearbox

Any ideas guys? Would really appreciate your advice as I'm going out of my mind!!

Hi! My media player keeps getting stuck in a bootloop. Before it started every other time i started the car but this last year its started only once. I was suggested to change the harddrive cause they though it was corrupt so i bought a new one but i dont have any software and cant find any place to buy the base software to install and not just updates. Any tips for what to do or if any has the software available.

Hi there! I recently installed on my car an OEM Electric tow bar on my 1.5, but pressing the button inside the trunk, nothing comes out from under the boot. According to Skoda workshop, problem was the control unit: it was the model specific for electric cars with part number Skoda 5H2907383B; in fact looking on VAG the right code for my car is the 5H2907383BLc. I found a pre-owned one over eBay and when mechanic connected it and turned car on, it enlightened itself for awhile. Is it matter o

Hi all, Anyone else getting repeat Infotainment updates that don't appear to be installing, I'm getting this problem on my 2024 Superbs Infotainment unit nearly every day, when I look on the Information tab I can see the updates and when it says they're installed, and a prompt to say the installation will be active the next time the car is started, so all looks correct. Hi All, I have recently inherited a 2015 Skoda Fabia from my late Grandad, at current it has the Bolero (I think) 5Q0035820. I have been told in order to get Android Auto I should upgrade this to the 5Q0035842. To do this is the only thing I need to change the box behind the glovebox or do I need to change the screen as well. Additionally I have found a listing for a 5Q0035842B from a Skoda Octavia, am I correct in thinking this will work in my Fabia.

Hello, can anyone help! I have a kamiq and at 55,000 my car suddenly failed, teva burning smell and no power. Was told it needed a clutch replacement and brakes replacement. £2,500. I questioned this as I’ve been driving for 34 years and never burnt out a clutch. I was forced to pay. I had raised questions about the car having a fault. Was told it was driver error. Fast forward 8 weeks and my clutch failed again - the same burning smell. Garage are unbelievably wanting £1,500 to replace again!!
