Writing on body panels

Having recently bought some bumpers from a scrap yard I'm going to be cleaning then up before fitting, the main thing to clear up is the writing that they do to mark up what car they came off.

Its like a tipex pen that they've used to write on it

Whats the best method for getting it off with scratiching the bumpers

I'm pretty sure I used nail varnish remover when I was tidying up the touch-up paint on my boot. It was going to be re-lacquered anyway, so I wasn't too worried about damaging the top coat of the undamaged paint, but I don't remember it doing anything to it TBH.

Spirit wipe. It's a degreaser painters use before spraying car. It will remove it safely without damaging paint. Take it to local sprayers and just ask them to wipe it off.
