I am looking at having a window tint done for my Fabia vrs next month and was wondering whether any one else was planning one had one in the pipeline, I am using a company called Pentagon as they have branches in Anglia, Berkshire, Bristol,Enfield, Hainault, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Yorkshire and are the only VAG APPROVED tinting company.

I have spoken to one of the guys at the Reading branch who informed me that the price to have your rear quarter tinted is usually £295.00+VAT. I mentioned the forum and asked for a figure if i can get a few people through their doors and he has quoted.

£195.00+VAT

He said he has done work for the VW forum before, and tinted several Fabia Vrs's if you would like to see the end result it is here..

I will run this until Monday Jan 31st and then get back to him with Names, Cars, Tint etc.

I think people tend to wander in here perhaps slightly less frequently than some of the other forums - I'd give it a little while yet before giving up.

I have just been quoted £99 for the rear and back windows, and it's £155 if you have the fronts done. And that comes with a lifetime warranty on the fitting and on the film. there based in Manchester. PM me if anyone wants the details.

In Leicester there is a company which can make all around for 175 ... so i think still not bad .

think mine was 160 all in for every window done a cracking job too ive used the guy twice now and i'll use again when i get another car

I got quoted by a firm in Newbury £120 for all the back ones done.

Booked mine in @Eclipse in Stafford.

Bearing in mind mine is an Estate they have quoted £185 for Security/UVA Grade film from 'B' pillar back.

Lifetime warranty

You can tint fronts long as light can pass through for the test

Yep, they were done last staurday and was quite impressed with the heated and very clean unit they have to do the job.

Went for the Dark Smoke (20%) tint as didnt think the Limo black (6%)would suit a white motor.

Dropped it off at 9.30am and it was done for 1pm which was fine as we had a wander into Stafford.

When inspectiig the work I did notice the 'soap marks' and was told they would disapear after a few days which they did.

Did notice a couple of nasty scratches on the back window which came as a suprise to me as I do clean the motor each week and not noticed them before?

Maybe the tint reveals these nasties but couldnt help wondering why the scatches were perfectly straight as if something had been cut on top of the glass??

A few days pass and I notice a cluster of tiny bubbles mid centre of back window no more than 1mm in size. Looking around at the other windows reveals some of the tint

hadnt adhered to the bottom part of the glass and draws your attention to it because the natural line is broken by the uncovered bit.

They were very apologetic and asked for it to be returned for further inspection. Havent had the time to do this yet due to the nature of my job but may get the opportunity today.
