Drive The Deal prices

The Carfile process for me was totally painless and the dealer was brilliant - I would have absolutely no hesitation going down that route again.

Nice one...feeling less nervous now!

I am about to order a yeti and Carfile have come up with the best price. Do they deal with the part exchange part as well but offer a low part-ex price ??

Also waiting for carfile to get back to me. Carfile are only a broker who put you in touch witha local dealer.

So part exchange is fine just waiting to see if value is anywhere near what dealers up here are offering.

Saving about 800 on vat free price but would still need a decent trade in price to make it worth return trip

to birmingham.

Drive The Deal put you in touch with a local dealer too. Wish i'd have known carfile used a birmingham dealer before i went through DtD as it would have saved me a trip to London.

Delmore in Inverness and Specialist Cars in Aberdeen were hopeless tbh when I was pricing a new vRS TFSi Estate. I live in Orkney and got my new motor from London via DTD, who were superb! Seven hour ferry to Aberdeen, then Easyjet to Louton. Bus to Heathrow and was picked up from there by Marlborough sales manager. Cost me less than £100 and I still saved over four grand off list and thousands cheaper than my nearest dealers. Very glad I did it!!

Well, think dtd and carfile are really only any good if no px is involved.Just been informed neither could get near my

price to change so looks like its down to a/c at the weekend.Still might try to get heated seats thrown in(no harm in trying)

Seriously mate, I noticed someone in another thread recommended you try Chathams in Dunfermline- I second that. Don't use Arnold!

I've previously tried to deal with Chathams Edinburgh and like you found them reluctant to do any sort of movement on price so wouldn't use them at all.

I've bought from West End in Broxburn previously and they were very good to deal with. They won't discount the new car but will give you a good part-ex price so your price to change should be competitive. Would have ordered the Octavia from them but I got a better deal from....

Chathams in Dunfermline. Discounted the Octavia by about £500 (in addition to the VAT free) and also gave a decent price for trade-in. Didn't try to fob me off when I went in armed with DtD prices or when I showed him an e-mail quote I got from Stuart at West End.

I can highly recommend taking the extra half hour to pop over to Fife. Speak to Donald King, tell him Steven with the blue vRS diesel on order sent you!

Will be passing Dunfermline tomorrow so will pop in to see if they think they can beat price to change from ac.

Are ac really that bad its just that they are only 5 mins from house although if service is really that bad dont

mind a little travelling. Also spoke to Eddie at broxburn he will match ac's price but not beat it.

Considering all I take it folks would rather buy from broxburn, even with the 30 min drive as opposed to the 5 min

drive to ac.

Tried Chathams at dunfermline and no go guy actually said to go for the deal already offered as he could not get near it.

So have now decided to go to west end on sat to seal the deal.Only reason is from word off mout west end are a decent company to deal with

unlike ac if reviews are to be believed.

I had a bad experience with AC in Glasgow when the wife was wanting to buy a car, I'd never use them again for anything!

The guys at West End are great. Not only the sales team, but the Service and Parts guys aswell.

You wont have any issues with them.

Oh well, that's a shame :| What guy did you speak to?

Strange how different people can have different experiences- I ordered a week before the end of the year, I wonder if they needed my order to try and meet targets or something?

Same when I spoke to Stuart at West End, he gave me an initial price then when I told him what I'd been offered by Chathams he beat it. As I said though, different time of year so that's probably why.

Have never dealt with Arnold Clark but have heard lots of bad stories so I would go to West End. We bought the Fabia from them and I would have happily used them again if I wasn't getting a better deal from Dunfermline (which is closer anyway).

I did place an order with Carfile who I found very efficient. Allams will be servicing the Yeti when I get it though....

Just got my car from DTD. Can't fault the process after all, all you do is place the order with them and never speak to them again, rest of contact is with dealer. No problems at all for me, give them a thumbs up.

Don't buy from arnold clark, I've had several cars from them and every time the customer care got worse until it was at the stage it was non existant, the final straw was when they offered me 2 grand less than book when I went to see about a new car. It seems that once your out the door they don't care. Rant over :swear:

I've just ordered a car via a broker. Jonathan at Carfile seems a nice fella, as does his dealer in the West Midlands, and the price is good, so I've gone with them. All seems painless so far, although I am a bit nervous about remote buying!

I can update this now :D

Bagged the car last week, no problems at all other then delivery took 4/5 weeks longer than originally indicated, but I don't think that's unique to this dealer!

Anyway very, very pleased with the car and price, and I will happily recommend Carfile to anyone.

Also I should thank the peeps on here that sent me reassuring PMs when I said I was bit nervous! Much appreciated, fellas!

Got my new Octy VRS via Car File.

Not sure on someones negative comments re PX.

Jonathan at Carfile was superb, basically gives you the price and then its over to the dealer.

I px'd my Honda Accord.

Car was sourced and provided by Rainsworth, the least said about those cowboys the better, as for Carfile - superb service.
