xenon hid light problem

Featured Replies

hey all im new to this site but everyone seems very helpfull. my problem started a few days ago as bought a 07 vrs tdi 2 weeks ago and lately its started acting up. while driving along the left dipped hid beam would shut off and the warning shows up on the dash. when i restart the car it works away again for a day or so and today the same thing happened with the right dipped headlamp leaving the left one working perfectly. any1 else have this problem and if so what is it. how can i fix it? thanks lads.

I would replace the bulbs and it will probably be OK again

If it was the ballasts then it would only affect one side IMO.

Try going to the dealer and asking them if that is the likely culprit

Welcome to the site from another Irish vRS driver! B)

Sounds like you may have a loose connection. A few questions: (Might help someone diagnose it for you!)

Are they aftermarket HID's?

If so, do you know what type, i.e. Canbus or non-Canbus?

Do you leave the lights in the on position when you switch off?

If you are anywhere near NE Dublin, PM me & I may be able to take a look!

Maybe swap the bulbs first (save buying new ones).
