Any one any tips on servicing the mk1 octy tdi 130bhp, mainly are the under and over tray covers easy to remove? how important is it to torque up the oil filter cap or is hand tight sufficient? All in all how easy or hard will it be with a haynes manual, I used to play about with motors loads but that was many years ago but fancy saving a few quid and giving it a go, with help from euro car parts of course! thanks

haynes manual is good. i did mine last and it tells you to hand tighten the new oil filer. getting off a little harder. plastic covers are easier to get off than on.
