thanks to all for trying to help but can anyone tell me the correct connections for the ignition switch please as i have found that the problems seem to be from there.

i have listed what i have done so far in previous posts but i cannot find these listed anywhere

It's reds to '30', blacks to '15', yellow to '50' and whites to '16'. 'p' is normally unconnected (at least on UK cars), although if you want anything to be live only when the key is out, that's what it's there for.
