Rattle in the steering wheel/shroud bit area

Only happens when its cold and goes away after a couple of miles when the car is warmed up, anyone else come across this? is it an easy fix? can't be bothered to take it to garage for such a small problem, any help gratefully received,

I think thats the dash pod, I have had that, but it seems quite difficult to diagnose, as you said it goes away after a couple of miles, by which time, I would have arrived at the dealer and there is nothing for them to see.
