suspension click

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've just bought a fabika VRS, 56 plate with 40k on the clock, in black.

I'm well impressed with this little car, it's got the same engine as my last car, 2003 passat sport 130, but boy does it fly! I'm also getting 40mpg urban out of it as well :

The only bugbear I've got with the car is a clicking/clunking noise which is either coming from the top of the drivers suspension strut or inside the dash. It only happens when I'm turning round corners, over bumps it's pretty silent. Is this a common problem? I've still got 10 weeks left on the dealer warranty and if it is the suspension, I'll take it to get looked at. It's the only thing that spoils a great drive :(

I read a bit about worn console bushes, but this clicking noise isn't something I've ever had on a car before.

Any ideas, typcial dash rattle or something else?

G

It makes me wonder if you might have a worn top swivel, or possibly a broken spring, because on Skodas, a broken spring tends to go in the end of the winding.
