Fabia 2001 - diagnostic port dead

Featured Replies

Car is a Fabia 2001 1.4 100bhp.

We need to access diagnostics to try to turn off the EMS lamp (known fault, it stays on) but the diagnostic port is dead. Confirmed by local VAG dealer and AA.

Any ideas?

There's a fuse for it, so check your fuses.

Thanks, I will.

If you have a cheap after market headunit try unpluggin that if not

I seem to remember someone having a problem with the port and found out that the wires had come out of the back, presumably when someone had removed parts of the dash.

Have replaced fuse (it wasn't blown) and no change.

Wiring is OK.

Shouldnt ever blow the fuse to diag port, its usually the radio causing no communication, try disconnecting the radio and see if that helps (as matt says above)
