Hi ppl. I have a fabia sedan 2001 1397cc with an engine code AME (55KW) and I was thinking of replacing the engine to a 1.4 16V AUB/BBZ (74KW) since Im not happy with the current performance.

Exactly, what type of changes or what parts need to be changed to complete this engine replacement? I am assuming engine mountings will fit right?

While I can't answer your question - I will warn you that the AUB engines come with issues of their own. Mainly with the piston rings failing. The later BBZ one's are ok I think, so aim for one of those if possible.

Gearbox

Ecu

Wiring loom

Driveshafts

Dash cluster and keys unless defeating immobiliser in the ecu

Gear shift cables

Clutch slave and pipework

Probably much easier to sell your car and buy a car with that engine . . .
