High level outputs

Featured Replies

Hi all, ive got a mrv t1505 alpine amp and a RF 15" sub out of my old car, i kinda fancy having it in my fabia, but to be honest dont really want to change my head unit as i have the standard 6 disk changer, ive never looked but im assuming the headunit has no pre outs so do you think its worth using the high level outputs instead to wire the amp.

i dont see any heads on the market that really jump out to me at the moment and i kinda like the nice finished look of the standard too.

I thought the HU did have at least one pre-out? I can recall someone on here runs an amplifier off the symphony HU.

ohh, maybe it does, i was just guessing. i should really not be so lazy and take it out to have a look

the symphony tape deck sat in my bedroom has no pre-outs at all, no ins either. high level stuff is the only way. not the best way to do it but if its the only way then it'll have to do

Symphony 502 Hu in the Fabia ( cd player) has one as far as I can remember...again I'm too lazy to take a look!

A lot of the factory fit stereos do have pre-outs , but they aren't a normal pair of RCA phono plugs.

You need to buy a wiring adaptor which I seem to remember people saying you can get from bluespot.

Yep, as dr. z said. The hu does have preouts its just you cant see them because they are on the iso connection on the back. The cable required is available from bluespot, or you can wire it into the existing connector yourself. Much quicker with the cable though.
