OK, so I have recently discovered that a 3TO Columbus (such as, for example, the one I have recently purchased!!!) is actually the Superb model, as opposed to the 1Z0 version that is for the Octavia.

I believe this isn't too much of an issue for a FL model, but what I'm wondering is whether it will work in my '07 Octavia? I'm getting a CANBUS upgrade (this one) but will this be enough to make it work OK?

From poking round online, I believe that steering wheel controls won't be available, but as I don't have them anyway that's not too much of an issue. The main things I'm after are:

- integrate with Maxidot

- integrate with Bluetooth

- voice control

Am I in with a shout? Or do I need to read up on flagellation? :S

Yes it will, I myself and others have 3T0 units in our Octavias.

My 3TO works well with the maxidot, and is perfectly matched to the voice control.

The CANBUS upgrade in the link is the exact one I got for mine, and works perfectly.

How come you guys swap your gateways rather than use a modified firmware with old gateway code? It seems to work fine.

Not necessarily - I've got Regensburg syndrome on mine for example, but it only takes a couple of minutes to sort itself out.
