When i start my mk1 octavia vRS it makes a screetch noise once its started, like once starter motor has finished its job or something?

Any ideas what could be?

You got it in one, common fault, you could strip it and give it a clean up and it will be ok for a bit possibly.#

Or replace.

Worth sorting. Mine was noisey for over 2 years and decided to replace. £60 new, so not really going to burn a huge hole in your pocket and quite straight forward to fix yourself. There is a guide link that has been posted a few times on the forum by members (including myself).
