Skoda Car Insurance

Featured Replies

Just got a quote on the Greenline II as it's expensive on the fleet policy.

First broker I phoned: £380

Skoda: £1000 :o

Skoda insurance quoted me double my Admiral price

One of the reasons why I never went with them.

Quoted me £400 for my Fabia 2 1.4 TDI with me and my wife on the policy I'm 27, and she is 25.

My current insurer came in with a quote for £193, needless to say I stuck with my current insurer.

As with any insurance company there will be certain things that they deem to put you as a higher risk, obviously in your case this made yours quote excessive (unless there was a mistake on the quote).

I tried several companies (confused.com, all the forum sponsors - SKY, Chris Knott, Adrian Flux etc) and all but 1 were dearer, but when you looked at the policy in detail the Skoda insurance had a much lower excess and the quote was only £10 dearer than the cheapest quote (confused.com).

My previous insurers Adrian Flux could get nowhere near it (IIRC about £200+ dearer) SKY were ridiculously dear because the car was std and had a high value

They wanted to charge me £1400 for my new fabia vRS but Admiral only charged £500 bit of a difference :wonder:

When i got my mk 2 octy vrs in sept last year i got a quote from skoda insurance & not only were thay half the price of my current insurer they also provided more things on my policy etc(insured to drive abroad, other cars etc) I could not find a cheaper & better policy anywhere!

I am ensured with Skoda; I had a terrific quote, much lower than the others I contacted.

I have no complaints at all, however, I am old, which probably made a difference.

Tony :)

I'm in a similar position and had the same experience! They did price match though, and I accepted as the cover was better. Skoda Insurance - makers of happy older drivers?

Wanted £1800 off me for the vrs!!!!!

  • 4 weeks later...

My car is in transit to the UK and while I have about 6 weeks to run on my current policy I wanted an idea of my renewal.

I ran my details through Skoda's website and got a price of £490 excluding windsceen cover, protected NCD & legal expenses. Even allowing for going from a 10 year old car to a new one this was alarmingly high and I didn't bother finding out total with the package I want.

I ran the same details through the main comparison sites.

I can get similar cover including windscreen, & protected NCD with similar excesses from both AXA and RSA for under £350, which is similar my last renewal and much less than Skoda.

Skoda insurance for my Greenline 2 £760 and I am over 40 with full no claims and no points or convictions

AXA £230
